Ford Mustang Ad

The original AD can be found here.
It is on Eric Moe’s website. I am not sure if he is the one who designed this ad for not. If you look in his bio it says that he is a writer, creative director and film director.
I choose to do a Mustang ad because my late husband loved Mustangs. When past away in April of 2019 he had 3 Mustangs in the garage. A red 2014, White 1999 and and Burgundy 1989. I sold the 1989 to a guy in Colorado, the white one I kept for my son and the red on my husband’s sister bought.
The Mustang below and in the ad that I recreated is a picture that my husband took of his 2014 red Mustang.

Alignment

Both of the ads use use alignment very well. They are both right aligned with the second line is indented a few spaces. With the text being left aligned and the text also being on the left it draws the readers eye to the text.
Contrast

In both of the ads the red car shows contrast. The first ad the background is more neutral so the red car stands out. In the second ad there are contrasting colors of green and red.
Repetition

Both ads show repetition. They both have a white border on the top and the bottom. Also the text is white and the Mustang above the logo is white.
Proximity

Both ads have a good amount of white space and proximity. The landscape on the left is not too overwhelming but also brings balance to the ad.
Color

Both ads have a good use of color. The first one uses red and a little bit of blue. There is natural colors that make the red car stand out. The second ad also uses red and green which are contrasting colors on the color wheel.
Typography

Both ad use a san serif font on both the main text and the text by the logo. Even though the text is big and the kerning of the letters are close together I really don’t think there is much contract in the text. To give it some contrast they could of put the “the” and the “to” in a different font our made it smaller. The indenting of the the second line does show some contrast.
